Hi, I’m Dana, the creator and heart behind Sonder and Soul.
What began in 2011 as a simple creative outlet quickly became something much more meaningful. I’ve always been drawn to the comfort of scent, the feeling of home, and the quiet rituals that make everyday life feel beautiful. What started as a personal obsession with candles soon turned into long nights hand-pouring creations from my studio and spending weekends at markets across Sydney sharing them with others.
At the beginning, it was just soy candles, carefully crafted using quality ingredients and inspired by a love for warmth, simplicity, and connection. Over the years, Sonder and Soul has naturally evolved into a broader self-care collection, now including bath soaks, magnesium oil, organic lip balm, soaps, and luxurious hand and body products.
Every product is still thoughtfully handcrafted in small batches with a focus on clean ingredients, timeless design, and creating moments of calm in busy lives. For me, it has never just been about making products , it’s about creating experiences. The feeling of lighting a candle after a long day. Slowing down. Resetting. Finding comfort in the little things.
The name Sonder reflects the idea that every person is living a life as vivid and complex as our own, and that belief sits at the heart of everything I create. I love this industry, the people I meet, and the stories shared along the way. Watching something that began as a hobby grow into a brand people genuinely connect with has been incredibly special.
And truthfully, I still feel like this is only the beginning.
